Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
The names you type never leave your device. They are transformed by JavaScript running in your browser, so there is no version of this site that receives them, logs them or could sell them. That stays true regardless of the cookies, analytics or advertising described below — none of those can see the contents of the input field.
1. Consent
By using CoolStylishName you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with it, the appropriate action is to stop using the site. Where the law requires your consent before non-essential cookies are set — as it does in the UK and the European Economic Area — that consent is requested separately and can be withdrawn at any time through your browser settings.
2. What never reaches us
- The names you type. The style engine is a script that runs on your device. No request is made when you type, and none is made when you copy.
- The styles you save. Tapping the heart writes to your browser's localStorage. That data stays in the browser, is readable only by this site on your device, and disappears when you clear site data.
- Anything you paste elsewhere. Once a name is on your clipboard, this site has no involvement in where it goes.
3. Information we collect
We ask for personal information in exactly one place: when you write to us. If you send an email, or submit the contact form while it is connected to its form provider, the name, email address and message you provide are used to reply to you and for nothing else — not for a mailing list, and not shared with anyone.
No account exists on this site, so there is no profile, no password and no purchase history to hold.
4. Standard log files
Like most websites, this one records standard server logs. Hosting is provided by Cloudflare Pages, which registers ordinary request metadata: IP address, browser type and version, internet service provider, referring page, and the date and time of the request. None of it is linked to what you type, and none of it personally identifies you. It is used to serve pages, diagnose faults, and block abuse.
5. Cookies and web beacons
Nothing the generator on the home page does requires a tracking cookie. This site’s own storage is limited to two things, and neither is a tracking cookie: your saved styles and your light or dark theme preference, both held in localStorage on your device.
Third parties may set their own cookies and web beacons. Where advertising or analytics services are used, those vendors place cookies to measure traffic and to select which advertisements you see. We have no access to, and no control over, cookies placed by third parties. You can disable cookies entirely through your browser settings; the generator will continue to work, though your saved styles and theme will no longer persist.
6. Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how pages are used. Analytics of this kind reports aggregate patterns — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located, which device and browser they use, and how long they stay. It measures pages, not the contents of the generator.
Google's own description of how it handles this data is published at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can prevent it entirely with the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
7. Advertising and Google AdSense
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve advertisements to you based on your visits to this site and elsewhere on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org. Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes the advertising you see less specific to you.
Google's advertising practices, including the cookies it uses, are described in full at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
8. Third-party vendors
Advertising partners each operate under their own privacy policy, which governs what they collect and how long they keep it. This site has no access to and no administrative control over the cookies or beacons that third-party advertisers place. If you want to know what a particular vendor collects, that vendor's own policy is the authoritative source, and this site cannot answer for it.
One third party is already involved in rendering the page: fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch them, carrying the same standard metadata any font request carries.
9. Your rights under GDPR and CCPA
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy of it in a portable form.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale. This site does not sell personal information.
In practice these requests are short here, because the only personal data this site holds is what you chose to send through the contact form. Requests go to the ask through the contact form and are answered within one month.
10. Children
This site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. It is a general-audience text tool that asks for no personal information from any visitor. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the contact form, write to us and it will be removed promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may change — including when advertising or analytics are introduced or altered. The date at the top tracks the last revision. A change that affected the core promise, that typed names stay on your device, would be stated at the top of this page rather than buried in a clause.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request under any of the rights above, can be sent through the contact page or by email to [email protected].
